The Minnesota Timberwolves completed their first season-series sweep of the Los Angeles Clippers since 2004 on Tuesday night, riding Karl-Anthony Towns' game-high 30 points to a 123-109 victory in Minneapolis.

A dunk by Andrew Wiggins ignited a 13-0 flurry after the Clippers had drawn even at 59-all early in the third quarter, propelling the Timberwolves to just their third win in the past eight games.

The loss was the fourth straight for the Clippers, who were tipping off a four-game trip.

Towns had a three-point play and Jeff Teague added two hoops to the critical run, which allowed the Timberwolves to break open a game they led only 59-58 at halftime.

Minnesota went on to lead by as many as 15 points in the third period, then never allowed the Clippers closer than 10 in a runaway fourth quarter.

The 30-point game by Towns was his 11th of the season. He also collected a team-high 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have won six straight over the Clippers, including all four meetings this season.

The 14-point margin was the largest of the season between the Western Conference playoff hopefuls. The previous three meetings had been decided by a total of just 20 points.

Wiggins (27 points), Teague (20) and Jamal Crawford (20) made it four Timberwolves with 20 or more points. The foursome combined to hit 34 of their 61 shots as Minnesota connected on 52.3 percent overall.

Teague also found time for a game-high 12 assists, while Taj Gibson was a fifth Minnesota player to score in double figures with 15 points.

DeAndre Jordan recorded an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double for the Clippers, who have stops in Milwaukee, Indiana and Toronto remaining on their trip. Los Angeles takes on the Bucks on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday.

Jordan's rebound total was a game high.

Lou Williams and Sean Kilpatrick added 15 points apiece for Los Angeles, while Austin Rivers had 11, and Tobias Harris and Milos Teodosic 10 each.

The Clippers shot just 43.0 percent for the game, hitting just eight of their 24 3-point attempts. Minnesota was 10 of 25 from beyond the arc.
